A true one of a kind antique early 20th century circa 1925 traditionally handmade luxurious unheated untreated natural sapphire and unheated untreated natural diamond solid 14K gold hinged bangle, 37.4 grams, 3.46 cttw, the largest diamond 0.90ct old European cut VS clarity.
At the center of the front of the high polished solid 14 karat gold cuff a dazzling geometric arrangement of old European cut diamonds and sapphires glitters and sparkles like crazy! The color POP and color contrast of the gold, the blue of the unheated untreated sapphires and the stunning unheated untreated white diamonds is just gorgeous!
All the diamonds and sapphires are unenhanced, unheated and untreated with no residues - these beautiful diamonds and sapphires are just as mother nature made them having been faceted and polished only! Such stones are worth much more than enhanced, or treated or heated sapphires and or diamonds!
This exceptionally glamorous sapphire and diamond bangle is completely traditionally handmade. It is a one of a kind period piece from the Art Deco era. There is just one bracelet like this one! What a beautiful and unique choice for a special sapphire celebration.
The luxurious solid gold bangle hinges and closes with a handmade box clasp, a safety clasp to one side.
It sits wide on the wrist measuring 3/4" wide at the front and tapering beautifully to 1/2" wide a the back of the bangle for comfort (19mm, 12mm).
The inside circumference of the bangle measures 7 1/16" (180mm).
The largest central diamond weighs 0.90 carats and is old European cut. It is I/J/K color VS clarity.
1.90 carats total diamond weight.
1.56 carats total sapphire weight.
3.46 carats total sapphire and diamond weight (all set gems).
On the tongue of the box clasp it is stamped 14K meaning solid 14 karat gold, this confirmed by testing.
It weighs 37.4 grams.

This fine quality antique bracelet is traditionally handmade and the gems hand set. This is unusual these days. These days much less jewelry is traditionally handmade due to the high cost and scarcity of skilled labor. Much contemporary jewelry is designed with a computer and cast from molten metal, the gems may be cast in place rather than hand set. These methods are fast, cheap, require little or no traditional jewelry making skills and allow for mass production but can't match the quality of expertly traditionally handmade jewelry.
Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are undesirable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments. The sapphires in this bracelet are unheated and untreated and are much more rare and valuable than heated, enhanced or treated sapphires.
