A spectacular 1970s original mid century handmade German designer 8K solid yellow gold and genuine cultured pearl brooch in excellent condition.

This one of a kind modernist gold brooch is an eye catching piece. It is entirely made by hand. The hand wrought gold has beautiful textures and is pierced in an intricate design that reminds me of butterfly wings. It's such an iconic piece from the era!

In total it weighs 4.06 grams. This is a great weight for a brooch allowing it to be worn in any season on any weight fabric including your lightest weight blouse.

The beautiful cultured pearl measures 4.62mm in diameter and is perfectly round with a beautiful unblemished skin. It has clearly been selected carefully for making this unique piece.

Measuring the brooch itself it is 1 7/16" wide by 1 5/16" tall (37mm x 34mm). Due to the delicate design and intricate pierced details of the flower petals or wings of the brooch it does seem much smaller than these measurements would indicate.

On the reverse it is clearly marked 333 for fine German gold. If you are unfamiliar with international metal fineness this is most akin to the English equivalent for 9K gold.

It has a safety clasp pin on the reverse for secure wear.

This lovely pin is a unique piece dating to the mid century era and is not a reproduction item.

It will be sent in a fine presentation box ready for gifting.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
