An exquisitely hand crafted luxurious platinum diamond and earth mined sapphire pin dating to 1910. This beautiful Edwardian brooch sparkles from every angle as the old mine cut diamonds catch the light. The calibre set sapphires cut just to fit the hand made setting are a striking contrast to the fine white diamonds in this antique pin.

The total weight of all the old cut diamonds is 1.44 carats and the sapphires together weigh 0.14 carats. This makes the weight of all the natural untreated earth mined gems which are set in this pretty brooch 1.58 carats. It is in mint condition and has an original hand made safety clasp on the reverse.

This amazingly pretty piece measures 1 3/4" long by 7/8" wide (45mm x 22mm).

This is a rare original item to find on the market today. At the current time most of these style pieces are reproduction and are cast. Worse, many are made with CAD manufacturing techniques and the stones are cast in place. This brooch is an original hand made antique which would be hard to replace with a similar item today as these pieces are highly sought after and in fact, despite the deceptive amount of reproduction on the market, extremely rare.

I love this piece because of how absolutely feminine it is.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
