An exceptional solitaire style fine yellow sapphire and diamond custom made ring in 18K white gold.

The yellow sapphire in this ring is as vibrant as they get. Dating to the 1980s it has been heat treated but has not been lattice diffused. Our experienced gemologist thoroughly examined this central fine sapphire and confirmed the same. Today to obtain a stone this color in sapphire without lattice diffusion is absolutely unheard of. A round brilliant cut stone it has an excellent quality cut and the amount of light that returns to your eye is dazzling. This rare precious stone is loupe clean.

This piece is in beautiful condition and is ready to gift or to wear.

In total it weighs 7.89 grams.

A custom made design item from the period this luxurious ring is entirely hand made.

The central sapphire measures 7mm in diameter and is 4.7mm deep

The sapphire weighs 1.66 carats as estimated in the setting.

There are 59 diamonds each 1.5mm in diameter and weighing 1.5 points. These diamonds are VS/SI in clarity and G in color.

This makes the total weight of the fine white earth mined diamonds 0.885 carats.

In total the weight of the gorgeous yellow sapphire and diamonds is 2.545 carats.

When this ring is on the finger it is 1/4" long down the hand and rises 1/4" high off the hand (6.5mm x 6.5mm).

Currently this beautiful ring is a size 7 USA sizing.

I personally adore vivid yellow precious gems the color is just so vibrant and cheerful. This ring makes a super alternative to buying a yellow diamond engagement ring, to me it looks better than the canary diamonds I have seen the sapphire is divine.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
