RUBY COLOR HERE IS CLOSEST TO PMS COLOR CHART 1945 OR PANTONE COLOR CHART 19-1662 TCX SAMBA - RUBY IS DIFFICULT TO CAPTURE ACCURATELY IN PHOTOGRAPHS BECAUSE OF THE COMPLEX SHADES OF RED. THE RUBIES HERE ARE INTENSELY RED WITH A SLIGHT BLUE OVERTONE. RUBY COLOR IS DIRECTIONAL AND WILL VARY IN DIFFERENT LIGHTING CONDITIONS.

Here we have a superb natural ruby and diamond ring in solid 18K white gold.

What draws your eye immediately is the intense blue red of the rubies which are beautifully matched for color- wow do they POP against the fine white diamond accents as a contrast! This ring has a timeless and sophisticated geometric design which is sculptural and pretty all at once.

There are 12 old cut natural fine white diamonds F/G in color and SI in clarity each 1mm in diameter and weighing 0.5 points.

The total ruby weight is 3.15 carats
The total diamond weight is 0.06 carats

Here we have a total ruby and diamond weight of 3.21 carats.

Inside the shank there is an 18K metal fineness stamp meaning solid 18 karat white gold and confirmed by testing.

The ring weighs 5.7 grams approximately.

It is a size 7 1/4 US and is sizable within a range.

The ruby and diamond face of the ring measures 3/4" wide by 9/16" along the finger and rises 3/8" high off the hand (19mm x 14mm x 10mm).

It is in lovely condition and is ready to gift or to wear.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
