This earth mined natural sapphires are unheated and untreated! They are just as mother nature made them having been faceted and polished only. There are absolutely no modern treatments here- No glass filling! No beryllium! No diffusion! Such sapphires cannot be compared to heated or treated sapphires.

They measure 3/4" long by 3/8" wide (18.5mm x 10mm). This measured with the diamond studs points north, east, south and west. The diamond studs measured in this direction are 6.5mm (6.5mm) north to south (diagonal).
The setting is gorgeous each beautiful intensely vivid deep blue sapphire flower formed from five pear cut sapphires with a central round brilliant cut sapphire inset below the petals. This creates endless sparkle!
Similarly the beautiful diamond flowers are created with four larger round brilliant cut diamond petals and a central smaller round brilliant cut center inset below the diamond petals. Wow what a beautiful design this is!

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are undesirable and such treated stones are of very low value. The sapphires in these glorious luxury earrings are unheated and untreated making these earrings the perfect choice for a very special sapphire celebration such as a milestone birthday, a sapphire anniversary or an engagement gift.
