An beautiful one of a kind unheated untreated vivid cornflower blue natural sapphire and unheated untreated white diamond 18K white gold ring, 1.40 carats total weight.
The blue sapphire here is completely untreated in any way - no heat, no diffusion, no clarity enhancement. It is as it was mined and has only been faceted and polished. The color is extremely rare for an untreated sapphire and intense deep cornflower blue. Untreated unheated sapphires cannot be compared in value to modern treated sapphires which have little value. Like all natural sapphires the time of day, the lighting conditions and the nature and type of lighting will result in a shift in the color of the natural stone. Obviously without much light no colors can be seen. The color is beautiful indeed a deep royal blue - for me it brings to mind luxurious blue velvet.
This is a lovely sized sapphire weighing 1.25 carats as estimated in the setting and measuring 6.40mm by 4.87mm by 4.23mm.
0.15 carats of untreated natural earth mined fine white diamond accents F/G/H color and VS/SI clarity are set in elegant lines to each side of the solid white gold setting. The diamond and sapphire band covers the finger from one side to the other- the intense colors just POP!
This then makes the total sapphire and diamond weight in this estate blue sapphire ring 1.40 carats.
Inside the shank there is the weight of diamonds engraved and there is a clear 18K stamp. The 18K stamp means solid 18 karat white gold, this confirmed by testing. This beautiful unheated unique sapphire and diamond ring weighs 2.46 grams.
It is a size 6 3/4 US (N 1/2 Au/UK) and is sizable within a range.
I adore the elegance and simplicity of this special sapphire anniversary ring. This blue gorgeous sapphire ring feminine, timeless and very classy. The quality really shines!
The weight of the central sapphire and style make it ideal for a sapphire anniversary or sapphire engagement ring. It is of heirloom quality.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
Comments:
Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments. The gorgeous 1.25 carat unheated untreated sapphire in this ring makes this ring an ideal choice for a special sapphire celebration such as an anniversary, a unique engagement or a milestone birthday. The unique nature of this ring, the unheated untreated sapphire and the timeless design are all features making this particular ring an ideal choice for a family heirloom to be passed down in the family for generations to come.
