An exceptional pair of natural earth mined emerald cut untreated unheated red ruby and sparkly fine white natural diamond estate earrings.

These are a classic pair of earrings perfect to wear each day as well as for special occasions. They have a timeless design with classic geometry perfectly accentuating the white diamonds and the red of the wonderful rubies.

The ruby and diamond weight is 0.97 carats in these luxury ruby earrings.

The rubies are emerald cut, this being rare to obtain as cutting this shape results in significant loss of the natural crystal thus costing a premium to obtain this shape.

Each delicate earring measures 3/8" long by 5/16" wide (9.5mm x 8.1mm).

The rubies weigh 0.33 carats and 0.36 carats, the total ruby weight is 0.69 carats, there are 0.28 carats of F/G color untreated natural earth mined diamonds set as stunning borders around each beautiful red gem ruby.

Together the pair weigh 2.45 grams, making them perfect for extended wear.

They are stamped on both butterfly backs and the earrings themselves 14K meaning solid 14 Karat white gold this confirmed on all sections by professional testing.

An Appraisal Report is included with your purchase of these special ruby studs.

Fine quality unheated untreated rubies are rare and valuable stones and worth much more than heated or treated rubies. Glass filled or beryllium treated or diffused rubies are of very low quality and value.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are undesirable and such treated stones are of very low value.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
