This beautiful sapphire weighs 1.532 carats and is of fine gem quality, but even more exquisite it is an emerald cut which is rare to see in sapphire! Like all unheated untreated natural sapphires there is a color variation that can be seen in different lighting conditions.
Surrounding the exquisite rare emerald cut blue sapphire are the perfect amount of unheated untreated natural white diamond accents for color POP and sparkle. To either shoulder there are channel set baguette cuts whilst framing the sapphire top and bottom is a border of round brilliant cut white diamonds. It's a custom made ring in a very unique style!
There are 0.390 carats of VS clarity SI color fine white unheated untreated natural untreated diamonds.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are undesirable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments. The large central sapphire is unheated and untreated as mother nature made it having been only faceted and polished! This fact makes this ring an ideal choice for an heirloom ring to pass down in your family for generations to come.
