A one of a kind very magical and beautiful handmade solid 14K gold rose pin circa 1950.
This gorgeous brooch could be mistaken for a real cottage rose the detail is exquisite! The flowers a rose in full bloom and a bud are finished with a hand applied satin finish to emulate the texture and feel of rose petals - this is a hand applied finish to the solid 14K rose gold. The leaves themselves are hand engraved to catch the light and look just like real leaves on a rose. These finishes to the flowers and leaves are hand applied and it is just these quality details and the extremely fine workmanship that truly shine through here and make this gold rose brooch special indeed!
There is a 14K fineness stamp on the reverse, testing confirms the same. It weighs 7.05 grams.
Of feminine proportions the pin measures 1 9/16" in length by 15/16" tall (39mm by 24mm).
There is a pin with safety catch to the reverse which holds securely. In my view there are numerous places a chain could be threaded to wear also as a pendant, of course, like all brooches it is an easy alteration indeed to add a bale if so desired.
This brooch is in lovely vintage condition, it is ready to gift or to wear.
This brooch makes you smile so much it is just so pretty! What beautiful workmanship and how lovely and magical this piece is!
