These beautiful rubies are unheated and untreated they are an intense deep red in shady conditions and in sunshine they appear a more intense pinkish red. The rubies have only been faceted and polished - they are unenhanced with no residues, they are unheated and they are untreated in any way. The rubies are just as mother nature made them having been faceted and polished only. This is so rare to see today. How beautiful they are!
In total it measures approximately 7 1/4" (184mm) in length and it sits 7/16" wide on the wrist (11mm). A secure hidden security clasp clicks closed from underneath the bracelet once the double sided clasp is closed.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments. The rubies in this luxury bracelet are natural unheated and untreated are of fine gem quality. This fact makes this bracelet the perfect choice for a special ruby celebration such as a ruby anniversary or a milestone birthday to be handed down in the family for generations to come.
