A pair of circa 1830 fine hand made 18K gold earrings depicting hands in jeweled cuffs holding floral wreaths.
A rare find on the market today these lovely earrings are entirely handmade. Each delicate earring is set with fine natural seed pearls. These lovely pearls form the jewels on the cuffs and are set at the center of each flower on the beautiful little wreaths the hands are holding. Every part of this earrings is a lifelike miniature. The detail is amazing.
Recently I have seen many modern reproductions of this kind of earrings. This fine pair of earrings is genuine and handmade nearly two hundred years ago. Reproduction jewelry is mass produced and poorly made. It has none of the beauty, mystery and historical spirit of genuine antiques.
Together they weigh 2.36 grams. Each lovely earring measures 1 7/16" tall by 9/16" wide (35mm x 14mm). They are unmarked but have been tested by our appraiser and are solid 18K yellow gold.
They are in beautiful condition. The original hook fittings have been changed in modern times for ball and post settings.
These superb earrings have been examined by a professional gemologist and diamond grader, a specialist antique jewelry appraiser. They will be delivered with the Certificate of Appraisal.
