A divine natural red ruby daisy ring in yellow gold. Oh! It makes you smile so much!

Some rings speak of a person so much and so it is with this luxury one of a kind ruby anniversary or engagement ring.

This stunning sparkly natural earth mined ruby and diamond daisy ring was made circa 1970.

Entirely made by hand with no cast or machined elements this quality ring is a one of a kind piece from the mid century era. Today we rarely see this quality and sadly most "handmade" rings are cast then polished but not handmade at all and were manufactured using CAD computer imaging design software with molds printed and cast. Stones can even be cast in place and not even set by hand! That means they are likely to be lost and the claws are brittle and uneven. These CAD rings do not have the quality of handmade gold rings and are unlikely to be able to be passed onto future generations but rather will be scrapped because of the porosity of the metal and other factors of casting using this cheap technology.

This exceptional natural red ruby flower ring is in lovely condition and is ready to gift or to wear.

In total it weighs approximately 7.14 grams.

There are eight single cut diamonds each individually claw set in this ring. These pretty natural diamonds measure 1.25mm in diameter and are VS/SI in clarity G color. The total diamond weight here is 8 points.

Each petal of the beautiful flower is set with a stunning marquise cut natural earth mined ruby. These gem quality rubies measure on average 6.0mm x 2.7mm x 2.2mm and weigh 0.25 carats.

The total ruby weight here is 2.25 carats.

In total there are 2.33 carats of precious rubies and diamonds set in the cocktail ring.

This ruby ring is unmarked for metal fineness which is not uncommon for artisan pieces from the era. Professional testing concludes 10K yellow gold.

From side to side the flower measures approximately 7/8" wide. It rises approximately 3/8" high off the finger (22mm, 9mm).

I adore the lively arrangement of the petals of the flower which are set almost in tiers giving this ring a stunning profile and really making it pop on the hand. It's an amazingly eye catching ring.

A comprehensive Appraisal Report will accompany this special one of a kind ruby engagement ring.

We shall ship in a presentation box for safe keeping and ready for gifting.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
