This superb timeless design unheated untreated natural pink red ruby and diamond ring is a real little eye catcher.

I just look at it and it makes me smile! The color is so lovely!

Somewhere between hot lolly pink and ripe raspberry red, it is just such a joyful color. Outside in sunlight the hot pink color shows more and inside the color is more like a rich raspberry red. The listing photos show the ruby looking red and also looking pink.

The half carat ruby is a genuine natural earth mined unheated untreated ruby and measures 5.17mm x 4.21mmx 2.57mm. On either side of the ruby is a sparkling white earth mined diamond. The precious metal is solid 14K gold.

Unheated untreated rubies such as this one have been increasingly sought after in recent years as no new deposits have been found for gem rubies of this quality. The trend for unheated ruby prices to soar is set to continue because the global demand for these rare precious gems far exceeds finds especially in such fine gem quality rubies!

The total ruby weight is 0.50 carats.
The total diamond weight is 0.02 carats.
The total ruby and diamond weight is 0.52 carats.

This vintage ruby ring weighs 2.2 g and is a size 7 US or N 1/2 UK AU.

It has been examined by an expert gemologist and registered jewelry appraiser. It is guaranteed to be as described and comes with an extensive Appraisal Report.

This dainty untreated natural vivid pinkish red ruby ring is the perfect engagement, anniversary or friendship ring or just a well deserved "celebration of you" because you love it.

It is a perfect choice because the low profile allows this special ruby ring to be worn every day.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
