An exquisite hand made one of a kind 1950s vivid golden yellow sapphire fancy champagne and fine white diamond cluster engagement ring.

This unique ring has so much sparkle in real life it is just dazzling. The design to me is reminiscent of a sunflower in full bloom. Surrounding the exquisite loupe clean natural earth mined yellow sapphire there is an array of stunning fancy colored and fine white diamonds in a variety of sizes and shapes arranged for maximum sparkle and scintillation.

I just adore the one of a kind style of this amazing ring. It's such a vibrant, exuberant and happy piece.

The ring is in lovely condition and is ready to gift or to wear.

It is currently a size 6 USA and can be sized within a large range.

In total it weighs 5.93 grams.

It is handmade from 18K gold and is marked 18K.

The face of the ring measures 11/16" long by 5/8" wide by 3/8" tall off the finger (18mm x 16mm x 10mm).

At the center of the unique ring the beautiful untreated natural yellow sapphire is claw set and measures 7.45mm x 6.05mm. It weighs approximately 1.40 carats as estimated in the setting.

It's important to note that in the last ten to fifteen years the vast majority of bright yellow sapphires you see in jewelry have an artificial enhanced color produced by exposing them to very high temperatures and chemicals, this process is commonly called beryllium diffusion. Such artifically enhanced yellow color sapphires are of quite low value, many have also been enhanced for clarity using glass fillers and this lowers there value even more.

By contrast those rare unheated natural golden sapphires that have not been artificially enhanced in any way are very valuable. They are mostly seen in older jewelry. This bright yellow sapphire is contemporary to the ring and dates to the 1950s it is an unheated untreated unenhanced vivid yellow fine natural sapphire of exceptional quality. This gem is of heirloom quality.

There are 13 champagne round brilliant diamonds with a total weight of 0.90ct. The stones graduate from faint through light and medium to dark champagne. This full range of champagne tones creates a much more visually satidfying effect than if all 13 stones were identical. All the champagne stones are lively and well cut. The average clarity grade is SI.

5 beautiful white diamonds complete the picture, 2 larger marquise, 2 slightly smaller marquise and one round brilliant. Here it is the variation in shape and size pleases the eye. They are all well cut and sparkly E/F/G color, VS/SI clarity. The total weight of white diamonds is 0.66ct.

The total diamond weight is 1.56 carats.

In total the precious sapphire and diamond weight in this unique 1950s engagement ring is 2.96 carats.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
