This very pretty luxurious natural Burmese ruby bracelet looks so pretty on the wrist! In the shade the rubies are a divine sultry dark red and in direct sunlight they appear an intense slightly pink red! The diamond borders surrounding each ruby really add to the drama and showcase the dazzling rubies encircling the wrist perfectly.
9.81 carats total ruby weight. There are 21 natural Burmese rubies, average weight 0.47 ct, heat treatment only.
2.52 carats total diamond weight. There are 168 natural diamonds, VS clarity I/J/K color
The total ruby and diamond weight is 12.33 carats.
On the clasp it is clearly stamped 14K meaning solid 14K gold, this confirmed by testing. In total this gorgeous piece weighs approximately 16.8 grams.
It measures 7" long by 1/4" wide approx. The secure box clasp has two figure eight safety catches one on each side of the clasp.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.
