Here we have a gorgeous pair of entirely handmade 18K yellow gold French eagle stud earrings
The pair are entirely crafted by hand and not cast! The skill to do this work is rarely seen and is called repousse. With this time consuming labour intensive technique gold sheet is pressed to create the slightly three dimensional relief details. Few jewelers can make jewelry this way and the skill dates back to the manufacture of ancient jewels.
Here the eagles face each other, we can see their eyes, the strength of their beaks and even their feathers.
On the posts there are French eagle hallmarks for 18K gold. The backs are also marked 750 for 18K gold. This confirmed too by testing for both.
Each eagle measures approximately 13/16" wide by 5/8" tall.
The secure backs are replacement more modern backs which hold perfectly and are ideal for these studs.
They are in beautiful condition and are ready to gift or to wear.
