This unheated untreated gorgeous Ceylon blue natural sapphire ring is sophisticated, elegant and timeless in design. The sapphire is a beautiful medium intense blue and has been expertly set. To either side of this fine gem quality unheated untreated blue sapphire the shoulders are channel set with sparkling baguette cut unheated untreated natural white diamonds. There is stunning color contrast between the solid gold, the white diamonds and the stunning unheated untreated fine gem quality natural sapphire!
The blue sapphire itself measures 6.50mm by 5.10mm by 3.5mm and weighs 1.25 carats as estimated in the setting.
There are 2.52 carats of VS clarity E/F/G color natural untreated baguette cut diamonds.
The total sapphire and diamond weight is 3.77 carats.
It is a size 7 US (N 1/2 UK/AU sizing). It can be resized within a range.
Testing confirms solid 14 karat gold. It weighs 4.69 grams.

Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments. The lovely sapphire in this ring is as mother nature made it having only been faceted and polished. This fact makes this the ideal choice for a special sapphire celebration ring such as an engagement, milestone birthday or a sapphire anniversary ring that will be handed down in the family for generations to come.
