An astonishing completely handmade one of a kind 1950s unheated vivid pink red Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring in 14K white gold.
This unique Burmese ruby ring pops with dazzling color contrast and brilliance - the rubies are a glowing hot reddish pink an amazingly intense neon color that true to the best rubies shifts in color a little in different lighting conditions - the color is intense! The ring creates a huge splash of color and sparkle and sits high off the finger. It's geometric but almost floral like a bouquet of fireworks! This is the ring to wear to be the life of the party not a wall flower...it is a signature piece full of sparkle, exuberance and exhilarating excitement.
The face of the ring measures approximately 7/8" long by 7/8" wide and rises 1/2" high off the finger (22.5mm x 22.5mm x 12.6mm). This ring makes a big luxurious statement and the sparkly is incredible!

There are twenty square cut dazzling unheated Burmese rubies with an average weight of 13 points each, 2.60 carats total weight

The twenty square cut unheated Burmese rubies are all a bright and vivid pinky red, fine gem quality and very well matched for color and clarity.
This ring is marked inside the shank for 14K white gold.
It is a size 5 US. There is a fingermate shank which opens to a 7 US to pass over the knuckle and closes to a 5 US.
In total this ring weighs 10.2 grams.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry and rubies set as replacements in vintage and antique jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments. The rubies in this ring are unheated untreated rubies of Burmese origin making this a perfect choice for a family heirloom ring.
