An important pair of solid gold museum quality 19th Century Ear Pendants.
Looking so contemporary in style these amazing hand made earrings date in fact to the late 19th century. The pair are in the Etruscan Revival style which is highly sought after by collectors internationally. They are entirely hand made.
These amazing museum quality gold earrings are a one of a kind pair circa 1870. The work is astonishing!
They have a grace and elegance about them taking you right back to the romance of the Victorian era.
They are in amazing condition. To note is that in the 1920s or 1930s clip fittings were added from the 19th century hook fittings. Clearly the owner of the pair at this time did not have pierced ears which was the vogue in that era. The ear clips are marked 750 for 18 karat gold, testing confirms the same. The 19th century handmade Victorian period gold drops are 14K gold.
The clips are astonishingly comfortable to wear. If desired they could be replaced with a typical shepherds hook taking them back to the fittings of the Victorian era.
Each earring measures 1 7/8" long by 9/16" wide.
