In some parts of the world especially in the east, for example in Japan, pink sapphires are called rubies and the pink shade for ruby is more highly sought after than bright red in that particular country. In other parts of the world, where the pink is predominant rather than the red tone such stones are called pink sapphires and not called rubies. It is quite geographically dependent how this particular color is both perceived and also described. Of course, it isn't very surprising as both sapphire and ruby are the same gem species. Here we are describing this special bracelet as assessed in the west so have chosen the terminology pink sapphires because of that fact. Indeed both descriptions would be correct depending on where in the world and who described this precious and remarkable high carat bracelet.
There are 274 natural unheated untreated pink sapphires set into the bracelet with a total carat weight of 21.92 carats (8 points average sapphire weight, av dimensions 4.05 x2.05x1.21).
This beautiful unheated untreated natural sapphire bracelet measures 7" long by 9/16" wide.
The bracelet has a hidden hand made box clasp which is further secured by two safety clasps, one to a side.
On the reverse of the clasp there is a 14K stamp meaning solid 14 Karat gold, this confirmed by testing. It is a substantial bracelet weighing 23.3 grams.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
Comments:
Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are undesirable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments. In fact all the the sapphires in this bracelet are unheated and untreated making this bracelet the perfect choice for a special celebration such as an engagement, a wedding or an anniversary.
