This divine vintage engagement ring is the perfect celebration of romance and love.
A couture jewel dating to the mid century era this astonishing toi et moi - you and me romantic fine vivid velvet blue natural sapphire and vivid pink red earth mined ruby ring sparkles with the scintillation of the precious rare colored gems and the fine white diamonds.
The colors are more dazzling in person than the photos could possibly indicate. These collectors gems are large in size and have been chosen for perfect color contrast. To start the fine velvet deep Ceylon blue of the gorgeous sapphire is electrifying next to the vivid pink vermilion red of ruby. Then to top this astonishing color contrast these amazing rare gems are set within F color diamonds which are perfectly white.
Actually this is the prettiest bypass design diamond engagement ring or wedding band I have seen. It's the glorious colors and the uniquely feminine style - I guess also the ring does remind me of a posy of exquisite blooms.
One of the features of this dainty engagement ring which I find so eye catching is the lovely setting which showcases baguette diamonds on one side and round brilliant cut fine diamonds on the other amidst a setting which reminds me of an embrace between a man and a woman. The sensuality and excitement of this ring just can't be denied.
It is an heirloom quality ring which can't fail to impress or to be admired.
Just the ruby alone in this ring which is loupe clean weighs 0.94 carats and the fine loupe clean sapphire itself 1.10 carats. The VS/SI F color diamond weight is 0.81 carats. Just to think - there is greater than a carat just in accent diamonds and above this there are two precious gems each weighing more than a carat. Which makes a total carat weight of 2.85 carats of precious gems of the finest quality.
Unfortunately, in the last two decades many rubies seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion and deep diffusion. There are also sapphires treated heavily with beryllium treatment to imitate rubies. In recent years rubies have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Oftentimes this clarity enhancement may appear on certificates as the note(s) “residues” or “minor residues” or perhaps “foreign substance”. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a ruby. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell rubies with these treatments.

I often advise clients to consider purchasing a top of the line colored gem engagement ring or wedding ring. The reason is that exceptional blue sapphires and earth mined fine rubies in such saturated and vivid colors without treatment have appreciated exponentially and are set to continue to appreciating exponentially in the future. They are much rarer than diamonds which are actually quite a common gem which is why their prices are soaring- this and the fact few new deposits have been found for gems this intense quality or size.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
