A genuine antique Art Deco Old Cut Diamond Ring. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow....and still more in love as time goes by..
This is an heirloom ring of the Art Deco period, it is not a reproduction.
Dating to the 1920s this special traditionally handmade antique genuine Art Deco period diamond engagement ring is set with 0.48 carats of VS clarity G/H/I color diamonds- the largest diamond is old European cut and weighs 0.32 carats.
This three stone diamond ring of course has the meaning of love enduring- consistency and continuity both yesterday ..today and also tomorrow. Love always. The symbolism makes for a super engagement ring because of the romance and sincerity of the sentiment of this traditional design.
Today we rarely see this quality and sadly most "handmade" rings are cast then polished but not handmade at all and were manufactured using CAD computer imaging design software with molds printed and cast. Stones can even be cast in place and not even set by hand! That means the stones are likely to be lost and the claws are brittle and uneven. These CAD rings do not have the quality of handmade gold rings and are unlikely to be able to be passed onto future generations but rather will be scrapped because of the porosity of the metal and other factors of casting using this cheap technology. This handmade ring is quality and will stand the test of time. It is an heirloom jewel like no other.
The face of the ring measures 3/4" long and rises 3/16" high off the finger (18.5mm x 5.0mm) - the low rise perfect for a special ring to wear each day.
Testing confirms solid 12K white gold. It weighs 3.09 grams.
This ring is a size 5 1/4 US, it is sizable within a range.
There are beautiful filigree details and milgrain finishing adding extra sophistication and old world charm.
This antique old cut diamond ring feels beautiful on the hand. It is a treasure indeed.
It is in lovely antique condition and is ready to gift or to wear.
An Appraisal Report and Gem Report is included with your purchase.
We will ship in a presentation box for safe keeping and ready for gifting.
The photos form part of the description. Like all stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
Comment:
In recent times many diamonds especially colored diamonds are grown in laboratories. These diamonds are diamonds but are man made. The diamonds in this ring are mined from the earth and are natural diamonds. Of course this makes perfect sense as this is a period ring and not a reproduction.
The CAD Technology makes true Art Deco period rings more than rare...as rare as can be as this technology can scan a photo and cast a reproduction with little labor. The end result has little value as a reproduction and will not stand the test of time. This ring though...this special sparkly diamond ring is of the Art Deco period. A true antique ring of the period and therefore more desirable, more rare and more valuable! What a perfect anniversary, engagement or promise ring this stunning original Art Deco diamond ring makes!
