Here we have an astonishing high fired hand painted enamel portrait pendant dating to the 1930s.

The amazing quality of the enamel portrait is breathtaking, layers of enamel have been applied and at magnification the delicate brushstrokes can be seen. There is an intensity of the gaze of the beautiful woman in the portrait, delicate shadows captured, strands of blond hair and even detail to her lace collar can be seen. Of interest very fine enamel on copper jewelry set in gold and silver settings was popular from the mid 19th century often depicting idyllic mountain scenes in Switzerland. This pendant made in Germany in the 1930s is very accomplished, the portrait exceptionally fine indeed and is the only portrait of it's kind that I have personally seen in decades in the jewelry trade. It was most likely a commissioned portrait at the time.

To the front the enamel portrait is clearly signed, the same initials are present on the solid 900 silver setting to the reverse.

It measures approximately 2 7/8" by 1 13/16" (73mm x 46mm).

This pendant is almost 100 years old and was made in the 1930s. There is a single minute eye visible mark. At magnification to the very edges of the portrait there are some chips which are not eye visible. At magnification in one area a slightly abraded area is present this cannot be seen with the naked eye. The enamel portrait presents beautifully, it is in excellent condition for the age of the pendant.

This beautiful Art Deco pendant weighs approximately 36.08 grams, and is a lovely weight to wear.

The frame is simple almost austere, to the reverse a beautiful flower is hand engraved appearing almost like a star.

I adore the amazing quality of this one of a kind pendant. The woman's face is beautifully depicted. She appears intense, clever and captured in her youth with all the beauty that entails. Frozen forever in time in perfection she is been captured here by the skill of the artist.

She will be sent in a presentation box ready for gifting and for safe keeping.
