Here we have an exquisite dazzling rainbow crystal opal and diamond engagement or dress ring in 14K white gold.
The natural untreated precious opal here has intense splashes in every color of the rainbow with a predominance of neon red. Violet to blue hues and intense greens show like a bouquet or expressionist painting in neon glowing embers alongside the numerous shades of red. In more subdued light the body color is transparent entirely whilst in more intense light a delicate pastel lemon can just be made out amidst the fireworks of colors. This opal has a wonderful polish and is a perfect high dome cabochon measuring 7.8mm by 5.2mm by 3.88 and weighing 1 carat.
This amazing precious opal is set into a high floral crown shaped setting to accentuate the colors as the opal captures the light. The shoulders remind me of torches with their decorations atop of each shoulder is set a fine white natural untreated diamond accent.
There are 5 points of VS/SI F color diamonds.
The total opal and diamond weight is 1.05 carats.
Inside the shank a K14WG stamp is present meaning solid 14 karat white gold. This confirmed by testing.
The opal and diamond set cluster measures 5/16" long by 3/8" wide and rises 3/8" high off the finger. The style and proportions of this ring have an elegance and grace. There is a real sense of how precious the spectacular natural untreated vivid rainbow color opal cabochon is.

Unfortunately in the last 15 years most opal has been mined from Ethiopia. This opal whilst beautiful is unstable. It can lose it’s color and go cloudy and has a tendency to craze, crack and break. We do not sell Ethiopian opal.
The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings. When you see this ring in person the play of color will look different outside, inside and in every lighting condition and in every angle! That is the beauty of course of this exceptionally rare natural gemstone. We do our very best to show every piece accurately in our listings and take photos in daylight equivalent lighting conditions.
