Estate No Heat Natural Purple Sapphire Engagement Ring, Violet Sapphire Jewelry.

A beautiful large fine earth mined natural purple sapphire and diamond engagement ring circa 1970 handmade in solid 14K yellow gold and set with sparkly fine white diamond accents.

This stunning natural purple sapphire ring is set with a rare purple sapphire which has a unique purple pink color. It's a gorgeous gem which would be hard to ever replace due to the amazing shade of purple of the fine sapphire. This sapphire is beautifully cut and a lovely size at 1.45 carats in weight making it wonderful as a sapphire engagement ring, a purple wedding ring, or an heirloom quality purple sapphire birthstone ring.

I adore the pretty asymmetrical setting with it's delicate splash of diamond accents.

It is in lovely condition and is ready to gift or to wear.

The large purple sapphire measures 10.3mm x 5.6mm x 3.4mm and weighs 1.45 carats and there are 3 points of G SI diamond accents.

This makes the total precious gem weight 1.48 carats.

Currently this luxurious vintage engagement ring is a size 6 3/8 USA sizing. It can be resized with ease to most sizes.

It will be sent in a fine ring presentation box ready for gifting and for safe keeping.

Unfortunately, in the last two decades many sapphires seen in modern jewelry have had the color induced by high temperature heating in chemicals such as beryllium. This is called diffusion treatment and includes surface diffusion, bulk diffusion, lattice diffusion, deep diffusion and beryllium treatment. In recent years sapphires have been clarity enhanced by filling any fissures or cracks with molten lead glass, sometimes the glass is colored as well, with time the filler falls out or goes cloudy ruining the stone. Polymer resins can be used in a similar way. Colored coatings can be applied to the back of a sapphire. These treatments are unacceptable and such treated stones are of very low value. We do not sell sapphires with these treatments.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
