An opulent pair of retro circa 1980 fine pearl, white diamond and enamel earrings in luxurious solid 18K yellow gold.
These beautiful earrings dating to the 1980s have clear references in their bold design to the roaring 1920s. True to 1980s glamour they are big and bold. Like so much absolutely high end jewelry they honestly look so luxurious it's initially a little hard to comprehend that these are out of this world precious jewels and not costume jewelry. The fine white diamonds catch the light at every angle are an exceptionally beautiful contrast to the slightly iridescent luster of the mabe pearls and the intense black enamel.
Together the pair weigh 16.8 grams. Which is just over 8 grams each earring so they are not too heavy to wear as is so often the case with bolder more dramatic pieces.
Currently these superb earrings have omega backs for pierced ears.
Each fine earring measures 1 5/16" long and is 1 3/16" wide (34mm x 30mm).
The exquisite set gemstones in these stunning earrings are as follows:
• 2 well matched perfectly round mabe pearls 13mm in diameter silver white excellent nacre and orient
• 2.80 carats of mainly VS F color diamonds are as follows
This rare pair of earrings are honestly out of this world.
I like pretty little pieces of jewelry but honestly they do nothing for me. Pieces like this seem to work best. I think choosing jewelry that suits you has a lot to do with your personality and individual style. If you are like me and bold luxurious pieces like this suit you best then these earrings just couldn't be more perfect. They make me smile as they remind me so much of the fun and glamor of the 1980s. It was such a great time! 1980s design is still as vibrant, as bold and as beautiful as it ever was in the day..perhaps even more so as in retrospect it is even more rare, desirable and just totally opulent.
