Entirely made by hand, this pastel violet jade engagement ring is one of a kind. The astonishingly rare translucent natural pale lavender jadeite cabochon is luxurious and large. The beautiful jadeite jade in this handmade vintage ring is untreated. Apart from normal cutting and polishing it is as mined. Untreated jade like this big lavender jade cabochon is much more valuable than modern treated jade.
The color of the huge jade cabochon varies in different lighting conditions a little. In most lighting conditions it is a pastel lavender.

Today we rarely see this quality and sadly most "handmade" rings are cast then polished but not handmade at all and were manufactured using CAD computer imaging design software with molds printed and cast. Stones can even be cast in place and not even set by hand! That means the stones are likely to be lost and the claws are brittle and uneven. These CAD rings do not have the quality of handmade gold rings and are unlikely to be able to be passed onto future generations but rather will be scrapped because of the porosity of the metal and other factors of casting using this cheap technology. This handmade ring is quality and will stand the test of time. It is an heirloom jewel like no other. What a beautiful thing to have a true one of a kind vintage ring that is your signature jewel!
These days most jade seen in modern rings has been acid treated, soaked in plastic resin and dyed. Untreated jade is immensely more valuable than modern treated jade.
