In person the fiery opal has pin point sparks of color that just jump out at you. Predominantly there are red flashes but every color of the rainbow is present in this spectacular natural opal. The pattern of the opal is exceptionally rare and covers the entire surface of the opal.
This is a stunning size pendant sure to be admired. Including the bale the pendant measures 1 13/16" long by 15/16" wide and is approximately 1/4" deep (46mm x 24mm x 7mm).
The opal itself measures 1" long by 9/16" wide and varies in thickness being around 1/8" thick on average (26.0mm x 15.0mm x 2.5mm). This is a large untreated natural precious Australian opal weighing 6.1 carats.
Testing confirms solid 14 karat yellow gold. It weighs 4.86 grams.
It is in lovely vintage condition and is ready to gift or to wear.
