Custom made 1930s unique antique spinel engagement ring. Unique and elegant this ring has stood the test of time and is of heirloom quality.

An outstanding spinel art deco ring the fine natural earth mined red spinel and sparkly white diamonds make this the perfect engagement ring or anniversary ring.

This unique late Art Deco red spinel engagement ring was made circa 1940 and is in lovely condition ready to gift or to wear.

It is set with an absolutely beautiful and very rare fine natural earth mined red spinel with a saturated rich red color that is loupe clean and of fine gem quality. Surrounding this exquisite gem are two full tiers of round brilliant cut diamond accents. The effect is absolutely beautiful.

The ring presents much larger than the carat weights of the incredible precious gems because of a cleverly made setting and the choice of a pear cut central gem. It is 11/16" long down the pear setting itself which holds the fine diamonds and glowing fine red spinel (17mm).

I adore the way the band is swept up holding the diamond and spinel set basket almost like the tendrils of a vine. It's a lovely setting.

In total the stunning earth mined red spinel weighs 0.81 carats. There are 0.36 carats of sparkly SI clarity G color diamond accents.

Together the total precious gem weight is 1.17 carats.

Currently this darling antique spinel ring is a size 7 to 7 1/8 US it can be resized to any size required easily.

Our appraiser tested this ring to be 14K white gold but it is marked 10K gold inside the setting. We do occasionally see gold testing way above karat for artisan one of a kind pieces such as this pretty antique ring.

An Appraisal Report shall accompany this ring.

It will be sent in a fine ring presentation box ready for gifting and for safe keeping.

With the price of fine ruby more than half a carat in weight sky rocketing rare gems such as red spinel have also followed suit in recent times. This trend is set to continue as no new deposits for this extremely rare red gem have been found this makes it an excellent choice for a special celebration or engagement.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.

Today we rarely see this quality and sadly most "handmade" rings are cast then polished but not handmade at all and were manufactured using CAD computer imaging design software with molds printed and cast. Stones can even be cast in place and not even set by hand! That means the stones are likely to be lost and the claws are brittle and uneven. These CAD rings do not have the quality of handmade gold rings and are unlikely to be able to be passed onto future generations but rather will be scrapped because of the porosity of the metal and other factors of casting using this cheap technology. This handmade ring is quality and will stand the test of time. It is an heirloom jewel like no other.
