An important solid gold high Victorian handmade brooch circa 1870.

Looking so contemporary in style this amazing hand made brooch dates in fact to the late 19th century. It is in the Etruscan Revival style which is highly sought after by collectors internationally. Handmade in it's entirety the workmanship is impeccable. It is a one of a kind commissioned piece from the period.

The gold is solid 18K yellow gold. It is unmarked for metal fineness and has been professionally tested by our team of appraisers.

The brooch measures 2 1/16" wide by 1 1/16" long. It secures with a c clasp as is typical of the era.

When I saw this piece I was absolutely amazed. If it had been made in the 1950s it would have been astonishing and would still look contemporary today. The workmanship and styling are clearly circa 1880 and this set still looks so modern in today!

This stunning heirloom antique brooch is in strong wearable condition. On close magnification there are some small indentations or dents visible attesting to the fact this is an original era piece and not a cast reproduction made today.

An appraisal shall accompany this item. This appraisal has been made by a professional Gemologist and accredited Jewelry Appraiser who is a specialist in the field.

This stunning brooch will be sent in a presentation box ready for gifting and for safe keeping forever.

We do have a matching pair of earrings and a bangle available in our boutique. This listing is for for the brooch only.

The photos form part of the description. Like all colored stones there is a color variation that occurs in different lighting conditions both inside but also outside, even the time of day can make the color of a stone appear a little different. We do our best to show colors as we see them. Color perception is highly individual and some people can perceive more colors than others, also colors can appear somewhat different on different screens and devices due to variations in screen hardware and device display settings.
