Here we have an exquisite ancient Roman wedding ring circa 2nd Century AD.

This ancient wedding ring depicts the ceremony of joining hands at a marriage (dextratrum iunctio). A similar example is held in the British Museum (Museum item number 1917,0501.276).

The fine gold sheet here has been worked using the repousse method and subsequently joined without the use of solder by applying a paste of copper salts then heating the metal to fuse individual design elements together.

It is intact and wearable. This rare ancient ring can certainly be worn as a special ring and not just a display. Please see the detailed photographs of each angle of this ring. It is almost 2000 years old and is in astonishing condition for it's age and authenticity.

Typical of high quality handmade Roman rings of this period it is fabricated from high karat gold, testing confirms 22K yellow gold.

The profile of the ring is oval and not round. It is a size 12 1/4 US. This ring cannot be resized.

It weighs 6 grams approximately.

The ring has a low profile and sits quite wide along the finger measuring 11/16" along the finger (18.1mm).

An appraisal shall accompany this extraordinary ancient ring.

It shall be sent in a presentation box for safe keeping.
